"Passionate. Mentoring. Forthright. A touch eccentric" -in his own words.
As a winemaker with 36 years in the industry, our winemaker Mark Jamieson says he still finds himself in awe of how incredible this profession is. With a low tolerance to wine snobbery, he believes there is no “right” or “wrong” wine—just varying degrees of personal opinion.
He counts himself as fortunate to work with some of the best fruit available, making his goal “to create wines that not only taste great but also tell a story, offering consumers around the world a glimpse into the passion and history behind each bottle” that little bit easier.
His winemaking mantra is simple: enjoying good wine shouldn’t require much thought. The wine should effortlessly take you on a journey of flavors and aromas, leaving you surprised when the bottle is empty.
“One of my most cherished moments at work is mentoring new cellar hands each vintage, sharing the excitement of tasting new juices and wines, and passing on my knowledge to the next generation. It’s a rewarding experience that keeps the passion alive.”
