This is a non-vintaged wine blended from a number of years of Shiraz to create complexity and consistency in the style.
Deep garnet in colour with vibrant magenta bubbles. Aromas of concentrated blackcurrant with hints of liquorice, spice and dark cherries. Creamy bubbles and luscious sweetness envelop the plump blackberry mid-palate, which is enhanced with hints of savoury development. The long sweet fruit finish is balanced with fine tannin and acidity.
Best served icy cold in a flute glass. This versatile wine style can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a wide variety of dishes. Traditional fare at Christmas lunch in Australia, the richness and sweetness of the wine will also see it complement a cheese platter or dark chocolate dessert.
"Lovely sparkling smelling of spices and plums with a zippy freshness on the palate balanced with lovely lifted blue fruit and spices. 4 stars, Top in Category."
"Sparkling shiraz is an Australian icon. Black Bubbles sums up the idea beautifully with dense colour, ripe berry and chocolatey qualities, mellow flavours, well-handled sweetness, a firm backbone of fine tannins and a long aftertaste."
"Medium red-purple, with more depth than most; as with the colour, there is greater depth to the black regional fruit flavours than others around this price point; the balance is good. 89 pts."
Smells of fuit cake with toffee notes.Soft flavoursome fruity palate; well-judged acidity and sweetness.

It’s sweet and generous but it’s not simple. Apple juice, kirsch, leather, licorice and plums, a slide of coffee-cream oak too. It’s very soft, very easy to take. Dosage is pretty obvious but then you get the feeling that the wine needs it. All round it’s pretty decent. Price is fair too. 90 pts.
