Vibrant purple-red. The Shiraz, grown on loamy clay, contributes the dark fruit of blackberries and mulberries to the blend, whilst the hand-picked, old bush vine Grenache (grown on deep sand over clay) adds rosy floral and savoury notes. Small batch open fermentation and maturation in older oak ensures the proven synergy of these two, equally matched, McLaren Vale Local Heroes.

Floral, powerful nose. The palate is substantial and comparatively firm, showing the majority shiraz component. A very bright, enjoyable wine. 4 1/2 stars.
Spicy cranberry aromas with chocolaty notes and an elegant palate with dark chocolaty fruit flavours laced with a nice line of acidity. 4 stars.
Deep purple/red colour. Clean, fresh, bright red and darker fruit aromas, balanced oak subtly tucked into it. A bold, rugged shiraz with ample intensity and structure, drive and length. It just needs time as it’s a bit too young. Quality is there for sure. 90/100
The fruit is sweet and jubey but it pulls neat and tidy through the finish. It’s a well-shaped and well-made red. It tastes of blackberry/blueberry jam, toast, aniseed and cloves and it feels generously flavoured throughout. Freshness is the key here. 90 pts
