El Capitán

Tempranillo 2016

Tasting Note

Bright cherry red in colour. Fragrant liqueur cherry aromas are supported by elements of roses, tobacco and earth. Rhubarb and red apple pie flavours flow through the palate of this medium bodied wine.

* No animal products are used in the production of this wine.

Like the dry style of this. It doesn’t feel tricked up either. It’s just pure fruit, served dry, with cherry and cola easing into clove, anise and other assorted dry, earth-like spices. There’s a baked earth character here, as a positive. Cherry pie. Good drinking.

Campbell Mattinson,, April 2017

A vibrant crimson hue bursting with red licorice, jubes, cherry cola and a touch of wood spice that all follow through on the palate. A concentration of bright fruit flavours on the medium-bodied palate, precise tannins and zesty acidity keeping everything tidy.
