2010 Red Knot McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre
"Garnet purple colored, the 2010 Red Knot GSM has intense notes of kirsch & warm raspberries with nuances of yeast extract, baking spices, black pepper & subtle violet / rose aromas. Medium - full bodied, it has a great core of red berry flavors in the mouth, supported by silky tannnins & medium - high acid. The palate has wonderful poise, with a nice balance of savory vs. fruity character, finishing long & spicy. Drink this one now through 2015+. 90 pts."
Lisa Perotti Brown, The Wine Advocate #198 December 2011
"Gold medal wine a shining example of how good these blends can be; moderate alcohol, fresh and textured."
Judges comments, National Wine Show of Australia, Class 23 November 25th 2011
"This is the second label of Shingleback, that rarely fails to over-deliver. The colour is a strong, healthy red-purple, the bouquet with an array of black and red fruits, the medium - full bodied palate with surprising (and excellent) texture and structure. A skein of perfectly ripened tannins weaves its way through the array of red and black berry fruit, all adding up to a first class, fresh finish. Drink now for one style, or in 10 years for another. 94 pts."

Tasting Note
Medium – deep red with youthful purple hues. Enticing primary aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and roses are highlighted with deeper notes of licorice and chocolate. The mid-palate overflows with ripe strawberry and cherry flavours. The luscious Grenache is complemented and structurally enhanced by the darker berry flavours and ripe tannins of the Shiraz and Mourvèdre, offering immediate appeal. With age, the wine will develop an attractive, savoury complexity.
Winemaker’s Note – serve lightly chilled in the heat of summer.
