Shiraz 2017

Tasting note

Bright purple-red. Primary aromas of blackberry and boysenberry are highlighted with hints of violet and spice. A textured, medium-to-full bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz overflowing with flavours of ripe dark and red berries. Fine tannins, subtle cashew-like oak and minerality channel the fruit flavours into the long, lingering finish.

Destemmed, matured for 14 months in American and French oak. A good example of ’17 shiraz made to a price – fresh, fruity and fault-free. Special Value.

2020 James Halliday Wine Companion, August 2019

Deepish red/purple colour. Discreet black fruit and spice, licorice and almost jammy berry aromas. It's medium-bodied and sinewy, drying at the end, with a slight mid-palate dip and moderate length. Very good value.

Huon Hooke,, August 2019

Sure-footed shiraz with ripe plum-like fruit purring through the palate. There’s a toasty/woodsy character too but this keeps things simple, in a good way. It offers uncomplicated delivery of berry-driven flavour.

Campbell Mattinson,, August 2019
